The growing numbers of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in this country are associated with the drop in cases we are seeing. The new study was published in medRxiv and has not yet been peer reviewed. Researchers examined vaccination rates in 580 counties across the United States. They found the higher the rate of the population in a county that had received the vaccine, the bigger the drop in COVID-19 cases, especially in the Midwest and South. In addition to the personal benefits of getting the vaccine, this study would emphasize a huge positive effect on public health from more people getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
